Hi, I’m Laura.

Therapist. Yoga teacher. Human first.

I’ve never really believed that therapy has to look one certain way.

Sometimes we need to sit down and talk through the hard stuff. Sometimes we need to move our bodies, take a walk, breathe, get outside, or just slow down for a minute. And sometimes we don’t really know what we need—we just know that what we’ve been doing isn’t working anymore.

That’s where I come in.

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S), EMDR Certified Therapist, Certified DBT Provider, and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). Over the years, my work has become less about fitting people into a particular therapy model and much more about meeting the actual human in front of me.

My approach combines traditional therapy with yoga, mindfulness, movement, breathwork, EMDR, DBT, and nervous system regulation. We may use all of those things. We may use a few. We may spend an entire session talking.

There’s no perfect way to do therapy here.

Therapy can happen in a lot of ways.

I offer private-pay individual therapy and yoga + therapy sessions in a few different settings.

We can meet in person at the Kentucky Flower Market in Frankfort, a beautiful and relaxed space that gives us room to talk, move, breathe, or get on a yoga mat.

We can meet through telehealth anywhere in Kentucky, and yes—we can still incorporate movement, mindfulness, breathwork, EMDR, and body-based work virtually.

We can also get outside for walk-and-talk therapy, or explore other outdoor and movement-based options when they make sense.

I also offer private and on-site yoga, including individualized sessions and yoga experiences for groups, organizations, retreats, and other community spaces.

The point isn't to make therapy more complicated.

It's actually to make it feel a little more natural.

A little about how I got here.

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2018 with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a focus on mindfulness.

Since then, I’ve worked with people from all kinds of backgrounds and in all kinds of spaces—private practice, schools, community programs, transitional living, gyms, and even the local jail.

Those experiences have shaped the therapist I am probably more than anything else.

I've worked extensively with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, emotional dysregulation, relationship struggles, life transitions, chronic stress, and burnout. I'm EMDR Certified, trained extensively in DBT, and eventually became a yoga teacher because I kept coming back to the same thing:

We can't always think our way through what we're carrying.

Our bodies are part of the story, too.

Yoga has changed the way I understand mental health and the way I practice therapy. Not because I think yoga fixes everything—it doesn't—but because I've seen what can happen when we stop treating the mind and body like two separate things.

Human first. Therapist second.

That's probably the easiest way to describe me and the way I work.

I'm not going to sit across from you with a clipboard and pretend I have life figured out. I'm a therapist, but I'm also a mom, yoga teacher, student, business owner, community member, and regular person navigating my own very human life.

I believe there should be room in therapy for humor. For movement. For sitting quietly. For saying, “I have no idea.” For taking your shoes off and getting on the floor. For changing direction when something isn't working.

You don't need to know yoga. You don't need to be flexible. You don't need to be good at meditation. And you definitely don't need to have everything figured out before you show up.

Just show up as you are. We'll start there.
